Valerie was made to advertise kellogg cereal
I bought this adorable doll in a bag with several plastic dolls, and started working on trying to identify her, which wasn’t so easy. At first I misidentified her, but then I was pointed put that she is Valerie! Kellogg would offer her with two outfits with ordering two boxes of Raisin Bran. Or so I am finding out online, please correct me if I am wrong!
The doll was made in 14″ version. I wasn’t able to find out who made her? May be Molded Arts?
The doll you are identifying as Linda Williams is actually Valerie. Known as the Subteen Queen, Valerie was a premium offer from Kellogg’s Raisin Bran in 1963.
Although Valerie is unmarked, I suspect she was made by Effanbee. The 1962 Kellogg’s Linda Lou doll was made by Effanbee using their Fluffy mold. If you compare Valerie and Linda Lou, their facial features are quite identical.
